The next release of the multiplatform visual graph editor Qt Visual Graph Editor 0.6.1 has taken place.
This version is distinguished by closer integration with the GraphViz package, in particular:
- graphs in DOT format are loaded directly through dot, which allows them to be parsed much better;
- call GraphViz layout engines directly from the application's graphical interface, with an instant view of the results.
Also, built-in support for the OGDF library was removed from the application due to its instability, which led to application crashes (however, you can build QVGE with OGDF support from source, as before).
Future plans include continued integration with GraphViz, improvements in node text editing, and support for more graphic formats
