ScummVM 2.1.0 release subtitled "Electric Sheep"

The ScummVM team is pleased to present a new version of their interpreter. 2.1.0 is the summing up of two years of work, including support for 16 new games on 8 engines, a port on the Nintendo Switch, and fixes for about five hundred existing bugs. All this was implemented through 8.493 commits from 147 users.

New games:

  • Hoyle Bridge;
  • Hoyle Children's Collection;
  • Hoyle Classic Games;
  • Hoyle Solitaire;
  • Hyperspace Delivery Boy!;
  • Might and Magic IV - Clouds of Xeen
  • Might and Magic V - Darkside of Xeen
  • Might and Magic - World of Xeen;
  • Might and Magic - Swords of Xeen;
  • Mission Supernova Part 1;
  • Mission Supernova Part 2;
  • Quest for Glory: Shadows of Darkness;
  • The Prince and the Coward;
  • Versailles 1685.

In addition to this, work has been done to improve ports for Android and iOS. But that's not all. The developers have improved the Roland MT-32 emulation, added a new "pixel-perfect stretching mode", support for Text-to-Speech on Linux and MacOS, and the ability to synchronize saves and load game data when using cloud services. As usual, the authors have made a lot of fixes to existing engines: support for the 25th Myst Anniversary edition has appeared; fixed more than a hundred script errors that plagued Sierra games for decades; added support for Amiga and FM-TOWNS versions of Eye of the Beholder; Improved audio quality in Humongous Entertainment games and added lip-synthesizing in Late Adventures by LucasArts. simply smashed tons of bugs in Starship Titanic and Bud Tucker.
