A stable release of the interface is available to simplify network settings - NetworkManager 1.30.0. Plugins to support VPN, OpenConnect, PPTP, OpenVPN and OpenSWAN are developed within their own development cycles.
Key innovations in NetworkManager 1.30:
- Implemented the ability to build with the standard C-library Musl.
- Added support for Veth (Virtual Ethernet) devices.
- Added support for new features of the ethtool utility to enable network card offload handlers.
- Added support for WPA192 Enterprise Suite-B 3-bit mode.
- The dhcpcd plugin now requires at least dhcpcd-9.3.3 with the "--noconfigure" option.

- Added support for reading and writing the key file format to libnm. The license for the libnm code has changed from GPL 2.0+ to LGPL-2.1+.
- Added initrd option rd.net.timeout.carrier and support for new "link6" method for IPv6 with link-local range addresses.
