It is possible to use plug-ins with the implementation of video and audio effects compatible with ΠΈ . From Shotcut can be noted the possibility of multi-track editing with the composition of video fragments in various source formats, without the need to import or re-encode them. There are built-in tools for creating screencasts, processing images from a webcam and receiving streaming video. Qt5 is used to build the interface. Code in C++ and distributed under the GPLv3 license.
In the new release:
- A column with the creation date has been added to the playlist information window, and items have been added to the playlist menu to change the file date and to display sorted by date;
- Added new video filters: Grid, Audio Dance Visualization,

Glitch and Distort - Added zoom modes 300%, 400%, 500%, 750% and 1000% to the player menu;
- Added software rendering mode to settings ("Settings > Drawing Method > Software (Mesa)" for Windows and "Display Method > OpenGL or Software (Mesa)" for Linux).
