Release of the video editor Shotcut 19.06

Prepared video editor release Shotcut 19.06, which is developed by the author of the project MLT and uses this framework to organize video editing. Support for video and audio formats is implemented through FFmpeg. It is possible to use plug-ins with the implementation of video and audio effects compatible with Frei0r ΠΈ LADSPA. From features Shotcut can be noted the possibility of multi-track editing with the composition of video fragments in various source formats, without the need to import or re-encode them. There are built-in tools for creating screencasts, processing images from a webcam and receiving streaming video. Qt5 is used to build the interface. Code is written in C++ and distributed under the GPLv3 license.

In the new release:

  • Added menu items for displaying text under icons (View > Show Text Under Icons) and using compact icons (View > Show Small Icons);
  • Added video crop filter "Crop: Rectangle" with support for alpha channel (transparency). Alpha channel support has also been added to the Crop: Circle tool;
  • Added "Ripple All" button to the timeline panel;
  • A button for adding keyframes (Add Keyframe) has been added to the Keyframes panel;
  • Hot keys Ctrl+0-9 have been added to quickly switch panels, and Alt 0/+/- to scale keyframes;
  • Added new filters for vertical flip (Vertical Flip), blur (Blur: Exponential, Low Pass and Gaussian), noise reduction (Reduce Noise: HQDN3D) and noise addition (Noise: Fast and Keyframes);
  • The time scale shift step is set to 5 seconds;
  • Filters renamed: "Circular Frame" to "Crop: Circle",
    "Crop" in "Crop: Source"
    "Text" to "Text: Simple"
    "3D Text" to "Text: 3D"
    "Overlay HTML" to "Text:HTML"
    "Blur" in "Blur: Box"
    Reduce Noise in Reduce Noise: Smart Blur.

  • The buttons in the panel have been rearranged to match the View menu.
