Version 5.6 of the WordPress content management system is available, named "Simone" in honor of the jazz singer Nina Simon. The main changes relate to customizing the appearance and improving security:
- The ability to flexibly customize the site's storyboard (layout) without the need to edit the code;
- Preliminary selections of various block layouts in theme templates to speed up site appearance customization;
- Twenty Twenty-One is an updated theme, with a wide range of color sets, each of which meets the high standards of display quality (contrast);
- REST API support for Application Passwords authentication;
- Maximum simplification of settings for organizing automatic updates of the WordPress engine;
- Beginning of PHP 8 support.
