Another release of XMage 1.4.37, a free client and server for playing Magic: The Gathering both online and against a computer (AI), has taken place.
MTG is the world's first collectible fantasy card game, the progenitor of all modern CCGs like Hearthstone and Eternal.
XMage is a multi-platform client-server application written in Java using the Swing graphical toolkit. Windows, Linux and MacOS are supported.
Application features:
- Access to all 19 unique cards released over the 20-year history of MTG;
- Automatic control and application of game rules;
- Multiplayer mode with the search for players on a shared server;
- Single player mode with the game against the computer (AI);
- Dozens of formats and game modes (Standard, Modern, Vintage, Commander, Oathbreaker and more);
- The possibility of holding both single matches and tournaments;
What's new in this version (after 1.4.35):
- Added the popular Oathbreaker game format with full support for rules and mechanics;
- New Core Set 2020 (M20), with all maps and game mechanics;
- New set Modern Horizons (MH1);
- Over 600 new cards;
- Improved support for Commander mode - now you can play any type of map with any mechanics from the command zone;
- Significantly improved loading of card images (rare cards and sets, tokens are now available);
- Improved graphics component - now cards and possible moves are highlighted in color;
- Rewrote the work of computer opponents (AI) with complex maps and targets for selection;
- Support for MTG decks: Arena;
