Several retro consoles have been released in recent years, and Sega also decided to appeal to the nostalgic feelings of its fans. The manufacturer announced a new console Sega Mega Drive Mini (Genesis Mini for the US market) a year ago, but later postponed its launch. Now, the release date, cost, as well as some other details about the future retro console have been announced.
So, it was announced that Sega will release its new console on September 19 this year. Initially, the novelty will be sold only in Japan and the United States, and only a little later will appear in other countries. The novelty will come with a pair of controllers, similar to the controllers from the original Mega Drive, but connected via a USB cable. The price of the retro console will be $80.
The Mega Drive Mini console, of course, will not support cartridges from the original Mega Drive. Instead, it will come preloaded with 40 classic games from the original console, adapted to newer console hardware and modern high-resolution displays. Studio M2 is engaged in adaptation. The full list of games has not yet been announced. The following projects have been announced:

- Castlevania: Bloodlines
- Space Harrier II;
- Shining Force;
- Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine;

The console itself, in terms of design, will completely repeat the original Sega Mega Drive of the first generation. However, the novelty, like all retro consoles, will be smaller than the original. In the case of the new Mega Drive Mini, by 55%. In addition to the console and a pair of USB controllers, the kit will include an HDMI cable and a USB cable for connecting power. The power supply will only be in the console version for the US market.
