The popular science publication βN + 1β published the result of an independent study of the state of Open Source in Russia, in which an attempt was made to find out who is engaged in open source in the country and why, what is their motivation and what problems hinder development. The study reflects both technical aspects and personal views on current topics. The prepared report takes into account the results of a survey of 661 volunteers and interviews with 20 experts.
The most interesting indicators:
- 58.4% of respondents believe that open source has no boundaries and there is no βRussian open sourceβ, and almost 70% read that a modern company should participate in open source.
