Thanks to everyone who took part in the fundraising campaign. During the event 416 thousand rubles (plus a subscription for $250 per month in and 3.3 thousand rubles in ). 328 people responded to the call to support the project. 13 transfers were for 5000 rubles or more. The maximum contributions were 50 thousand rubles and 0.196 BTC (~$1000).
The amount received is less than but hosting companies ΠΈ
expressed their willingness to become sponsors and provide the missing funds. I also want to thank the company , which has been providing a server for the project for free since 2015.
Ideas that are planned to be implemented based on the results (if I missed something - write):
- An intermediate mode of "soft" moderation, which can be used for not gross violations, but for, for example, messages provoking a flame, for which deletion is not always justified. In this mode, messages will be left in the thread, but collapsed by default and the ability to post replies to them is blocked;
- Improvement of the moderation log: the ability to reveal the full text of the original messages and add links to view the log of a specific discussion;
- Extending alternative view modes in Ajax mode:
- Combined mode with the disclosure of only first-level answers (already added the link "β" on the main page of the forum), supplementing the mode of sequential viewing of branches (link [β¦]).
- Sorting modes by number of answers and rating (number of pluses). Replacing the header repeated for all messages with brief annotations (the beginning of the message).
- Bringing the final discussion summary pages (/num.html, "expand all") to the discussion style under the news.
- Adding to the linear mode (sort by date mode) the ability to track parent and child messages, the selection of parents of the 1st level, the mode with answers in the style of "boards";
- Tracking responses (parent and child messages) in linear/UBB mode;
- On the number of comments in the news lists, make a link for auto-opening all comments when opening the news page (for those who read in incognito mode and do not remember the cookie set when clicking on "open all messages");
