Richard Stallman speaks to Microsoft employees

Richard Stallman accepted Microsoft's invitation and acted with a report to the company's employees at the headquarters of Microsoft in Redmond. Until recently, such a performance looked unlikely due to the active critics ΠΈ negative attitude Stallman to Microsoft (in turn Steve Ballmer compared GPL with cancer). Alessandro Segala, Open Product Manager at Azure characterized the speech that took place was like this - "If the world ends today, then you know why."

In his report, in addition to the standard story about the importance of free software, the GPLv3 license and the interaction between GNU and Linux, Stallman also expressed a number of proposals to encourage GitHub users to choose the best licenses, work with hardware manufacturers to publish hardware specifications, and make it easier to configure computers to run without UEFI Secure Boot. Also Stallman mentionedthat reading Satya Nadella's book "Hit Refresh" made it clear that Microsoft is a great company... if you ignore what they do with user freedom.
