John Martinson announced the release of Robolinux 10.6, the latest update to the project's Ubuntu-based distribution with built-in VirtualBox for non-Linux operating systems. The current release is intended for users of Microsoft Windows 7, which ends support next month.

With Windows 7 set to expire on January 14, 2020, Robolinux is expecting a huge number of new Linux users who don't want to upgrade. This is exactly what happened in April 2014 when XP expired. This time, Robolinux will offer screen sharing to support new users who don't want to go through Linux training.

To prepare for the large number of new Linux users, the developers made sure that all five versions of the 10 series - Cinnamon, Mate 3D, Xfce, LXDE and GNOME - are as reliable as possible with new kernels, hardware drivers and over five hundred updates security and application updates.

VirtualBox has been updated to version 5.2.34.

The privacy-focused Brave browser has been added to free app installers.
