The Supervisory Board of Roscosmos, according to the RIA Novosti online publication, intends to approve the transfer of ownership of the state corporation to the anthropomorphic robot Fedora.
The FEDOR (Final Experimental Demonstration Object Research) project, we recall, is being implemented by the Foundation for Advanced Study (FPI) together with the Android Technology NGO. The robot "Fedor" can repeat the movements of the operator, dressed in an exoskeleton.
βThe goal of the project is to develop a technology for the combined control of an anthropomorphic robotic platform based on sensory elements with feedback. The sensor system and torque feedback provide the operator with comfortable control with the implementation of the effects of presence in the working area of ββthe robot, compensation for the weight of the driving device and its own weight, as well as augmented reality, βthe FPI website says.
It is noted that the meeting of the Supervisory Board of Roscosmos, at which the transfer of Fedor to the state corporation will be approved, will be held on April 10. Roskosmos will prepare the robot for flight to the International Space Station (ISS) on the unmanned Soyuz spacecraft. The launch is scheduled for this summer.
It is alleged that Fedor has the best kinematics in the world among android robots: it is the only anthropomorphic robot in the world that can sit on both longitudinal and transverse twines.
