Image & Form Games has announced the release date for the role-playing card game SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech - the premiere is scheduled for April 25th. The project will debut on the Nintendo Switch.
The game will only be sold on the Nintendo eShop. Pre-orders are already open there - the purchase will cost 1879 rubles for domestic players. So far, SteamWorld Quest has not been announced for other platforms, but the description says that the game will "release first on the Nintendo Switch."
The SteamWorld series consists of three games - the platform games SteamWorld Dig and SteamWorld Dig 2 and the turn-based tactics SteamWorld Heist. Maintaining the overall visual style and referring to the same characters, funny cartoon robots, the authors change genres. In terms of mechanics, SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech looks like this: in real time, you travel through a drawn 2D world, communicate with characters, look for treasures and receive new quests. When faced with enemies, you enter a turn-based mode: during each turn, you are given several cards from the deck that determine certain actions. Using cards, you need to build a chain of actions to defeat enemies, as well as strengthen and heal your characters. You control not one character, but a group, and each hero has his own collection of cards.
