RPG Sandbox Citadel: Forged With Fire Coming to PC and Consoles October 11

Blue Isle Studios has announced that on October 11, Citadel: Forged With Fire will exit Steam Early Access on PC and launch simultaneously on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The project belongs to the sandbox MMORPG genre with elements of survival, in which you have to play as a wizard trying to survive in dangerous lands.

Developed in Toronto, the game has some potential and an interesting backer, former head of Sony's US PlayStation division, Jack Tretton. Tretton currently runs Interactive Gaming Ventures, a venture capital fund focused on games. He invested in Blue Isle Studios 3 years ago through his previous investment firm OceanIQ Partners.

Citadel: Forged With Fire is the studio's third game. The game takes place in the enchanted world of Ignus. In the game, novice wizards learn the art of witchcraft, fly on broomsticks, create objects and engage in construction. By attracting allies, you can establish your own House, and then aim at creating an empire.

“We're excited about the success we've had with Early Access and all the content we've added, and we're very optimistic about the project's chances,” said Jack Tretton. “We are excited that this independent game will be distributed both digitally and physically.”

To date, Blue Isle Studios has released about 100 patches and updates, a lot of new content and several major expansions like Forgotten Crypts and Citadel Reignited, thousands of bugs have been fixed and tons of balance adjustments have been made. After the release of version 1.0, the developers promise to continue to support the game with a lot of additional content, server-side updates, fixes and improvements.

Citadel: Forged With Fire is available for pre-order thanks to a partnership with Solutions 2 Go, which distributes worldwide. General game rating on Steam low - 63 out of 100 with more than 3000 responses, but out of the recent 71 reviews, 77% are already positive. This allows us to hope that during the early access period, the developers really solved a lot of problems and effectively responded to criticism.
