Roskomnadzor announced the blocking of six VPN providers in Russia

Roskomnadzor announced the replenishment of the blocking list of VPN providers, whose activities are recognized as unacceptable due to the provision of the ability to bypass restrictions on access to content recognized as illegal in the Russian Federation. In addition to VyprVPN and OperaVPN, the block will now apply to Hola VPN, ExpressVPN, KeepSolid VPN Unlimited, Nord VPN, Speedify VPN, and IPVanish VPN, which received a warning in June requiring them to connect to the state information system (FSIS), but ignored it or refused to cooperate with Roskomnadzor.

It is interesting that, unlike previous blockings, β€œwhite lists” were formed to exclude disruption of software and applications that do not violate Russian law and use VPN services for technological purposes. The whitelist that should not be blocked by VPN includes more than 100 IP addresses belonging to 64 organizations that use VPN to power their workflows.
