We are talking, in particular, about the Soyuz-5 project to create a two-stage medium-class rocket. It is expected that flight tests of this carrier will begin approximately in 2022.

By the end of this year, according to Mr. Rogozin, it is planned to conduct new flight tests of the heavy Angara, and from 2023 to begin mass production of this missile at the Omsk production company Polet.

Finally, the head of Roscosmos said that the deployment of work on the creation of a super-heavy class rocket had already begun. Until the end of this year, the preliminary design of the carrier will be submitted to the Government of the Russian Federation.

The super-heavy class rocket complex is being created with an eye on complex space missions to explore the Moon and Mars. The first launch of this carrier is likely to take place no earlier than 2028.

“All our new rockets, our entire rocket future is based on engines that are being created at NPO Energomash. These engines are certainly reliable, but we need to move on. This is what we have already begun to work on - on a new reusable manned spacecraft, on new rockets, and the entire ground-based space infrastructure should be on our native Russian land - at the Vostochny cosmodrome, ”Dmitry Rogozin emphasized.
