In Russia, the implementation of the program of import substitution of the electronic component base (ECB) for spacecraft continues.
Currently, many components for Russian satellites are purchased abroad, which creates dependence on foreign companies. Meanwhile, the stability of communications and the country's defense capability depend on the presence of its own production.
The state corporation Roskosmos, according to the RIA Novosti online publication, expects to completely switch to domestic electronic components by 2030.
“Our new spacecraft and GLONASS constellations by 2025 should leave no more than 10% of imported components in their composition, by 2030 we plan to completely make an import-substituted ECB for our space constellation,” said Konstantin Shadrin, director of the Roscosmos digital development center.
We add that the composition of the Russian orbital constellation last year increased by eight satellites, reaching 156 devices. At the same time, the constellation of socio-economic, scientific and dual-use satellites includes 89 devices.
