The Chinese company Sophgo, according to the Vedomosti newspaper, has signed the first contract for the supply of its tensor AI processors to Russia. The Russian company Softlogic has become a partner, which will also act as a distributor. The fact that Sophgo was eyeing the Russian market became known at the end of January 2024. An enterprise from China intends to officially ship tensor processors for neural networks to the Russian Federation, as well as CPUs of its own design based on RISC-V. As it is now reported, Sophgo and Softlogic entered into an agreement back in 2023, but information about this was not disclosed under the terms of the partnership.
