Russian neuroplatform E-Boi will help increase the reaction of cybersportsmen

Russian researchers from Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov have developed a neural interface platform called E-Boi, designed for training e-sportsmen.

The proposed system uses a brain-computer interface. The creators say that the solution allows you to increase the reaction speed of gamers and increase the accuracy of control.

The scheme for using the platform is as follows. At the first stage, the e-sportsman is tested for speed and accuracy in a specially developed application. At the same time, using electroencephalographic sensors, the system registers the activation of sensorimotor areas of the cerebral cortex. In addition, the platform is calibrated.

The next step is the actual training. An esportsman must imagine how he performs tasks without making any movements. At this time, there is an improvement in the connection between cortical neurons and motor neurons in the brain. After the end of the "mental" training, the researchers again measure the user's performance in the application.

β€œOur proposal is to evaluate, by the degree of activation of the sensorimotor zones of the cortex, how correctly a person imagines movements. You can control this just with the help of a neural interface that reads brain activity and evaluates its intensity, ”the developers say.

As noted, Russian eSports clubs have already become interested in the new system. In addition, in the future, the solution can help in the rehabilitation of patients who have suffered a stroke or neurotrauma.
