Russian taxi operators are introducing a system of end-to-end recording of driver work time

The companies Vezet, Citymobil and Yandex.Taxi have begun implementing a new system that will allow them to control the total time drivers work on the lines.

Some companies track the working hours of taxi drivers, which helps eliminate overtime. However, drivers, having worked in one service, often go on line in another. This leads to taxi drivers becoming very tired, which leads to a decrease in transportation safety and an increase in the risk of road accidents.

End-to-end accounting technology will make it possible to ensure that drivers do not overwork. This is the first initiative of this kind in Russia between taxi ordering services, helping to eliminate overtime for taxi drivers.

It is noted that the system is currently operating in test mode. β€œA technical protocol has been developed, according to which monitoring will take place throughout the country and in real time. Between Yandex.Taxi and Citymobil, testing began in Moscow and the Moscow region, as well as in Yaroslavl. The Vezet company is now in the technology integration stage,” the companies said in a statement.

After completing the tests, the companies participating in the project will begin to limit access to receiving orders for those drivers who have been working on the line for too long in total - regardless of which service and at what time of day they accepted orders.

Federal and regional online taxi ordering platforms that are willing to exchange data, are interested in reducing accidents in the taxi industry, and want to improve the safety of all road users are invited to participate in the initiative.
