Russian developments will help in the implementation of the brain-computer interface

The Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) reports that our country has developed tools for studying mental states based on electroencephalography (EEG).

We are talking about specialized software modules called “Cognigraph-IMK” and “Cognigraph.IMK-PRO”. They allow you to visually and efficiently create, edit and run mental state recognition algorithms for the brain-computer interface.

The created software modules are part of the Cognigraph platform. It is a tool for research in the field of human neurophysiology using multichannel EEG. It includes interface methods for localizing, recognizing and visualizing sources of brain activity.

The system allows you to create a three-dimensional map of active areas of the brain. Moreover, the information is updated in real time - up to 20 times per second. The readings are taken using a special helmet with electrode sensors.

“Advanced signal processing methods and powerful machine learning classifiers are now available in a single software package, and the user of the system no longer needs to be able to program,” notes MIPT.
