The research and production association "NPO Avtomatiki", which is part of the state corporation Roscosmos, demonstrated a prototype of a tractor equipped with a self-management system.
The unmanned vehicle was presented at the Innoprom-2019 International Industrial Exhibition, which is currently taking place in Yekaterinburg.
The tractor has no steering wheel or pedals. Moreover, the car does not even have a familiar cabin. Therefore, the movement is carried out exclusively in automatic mode.
The prototype is able to determine its own location on the ground through the use of several systems developed by NPO Automation. Satellite signal correction technology provides accuracy up to 10 centimeters.
A special controller is responsible for the movement, which receives from the satellite the necessary information to build the route and processes it. The electronic "brain" independently makes decisions and is able to learn in the process of work, accumulating knowledge. The artificial intelligence of the machine ensures safe movement along the trajectory at optimal speeds.
The tractor is equipped with special cameras, and machine vision tools allow you to identify obstacles and adjust the trajectory of movement depending on the current situation.
The tractor is currently being tested. At this stage, the operator sets the movement program - the specialist schematically draws up the route and monitors the correct execution of the task.
