Open Mobile Platform (OMP) and Aquarius announced the porting of the Russian mobile operating system Aurora to Russian tablets produced by Aquarius.
Aurora is the new name of the Sailfish Mobile OS Rus software platform. This operating system is designed for mobile devices, in particular smartphones and tablets.
It is reported that the first Russian tablet based on Aurora was the Aquarius Cmp NS208 model. The device is equipped with an eight-core processor and an 8-inch diagonal display with a resolution of 1280 Γ 800 pixels.
The tablet is made in a protected (IP67) case and is intended for professional use. The declared operating temperature range is from minus 20 to plus 60 degrees Celsius.
The computer supports NFC technology, 4G/3G/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth communication standards, GPS and GLONASS navigation. The device is optionally equipped with a fingerprint sensor, 1D/2D scanner for reading barcodes and QR codes.
The tablet was developed by Aquarius, produced at the company's plant in Russia and meets the requirements of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
An engineering sample of a tablet with Aurora on board was presented at the Digital Industry of Industrial Russia (CIPR) 2019 exhibition, held from May 22 to 24 in Innopolis.
