Analytical company Telecom Daily, according to the newspaper Vedomosti, records the rapid growth of the Russian market of online video services.
It is reported that in the first half of this year, the corresponding industry showed a result of 10,6 billion rubles. This is an impressive 44,3% increase compared to the same period last year.
For comparison: in the first half of 2018 compared to the same period in 2017, the Russian market of online video services increased in volume by 32% (in monetary terms).
βFor the first few years, Russian video services developed primarily through the display of commercials, but two years ago, user payments to online cinemas exceeded their advertising revenue,β Vedomosti writes.
It is said that currently in our country more than 6 million people pay for movies and series on the Internet. The share of payments in the income of video services is constantly growing: in the first six months of 2019, it approached 70%, payments increased by 2018 times compared to the same period in 1,7, to 7,3 billion rubles.
Analysts predict that by the end of 2019, online cinemas will earn about 21,5 billion rubles.
