Company "Information satellite systems" M.F. Reshetneva (ISS) intends to complete the production of the Express-AMU7 telecommunications satellite in the coming months. This was reported on the pages of the newspaper "Siberian Sputnik", published by the enterprise.
The Express-AMU7 spacecraft is designed to provide high-quality communications and television and radio broadcasting services to consumers in Russia and foreign countries. The satellite is being created on the basis of the Express-1000 platform, and almost the entire payload is designed and manufactured by specialists from the Italian branch of Thales Alenia Space.
During the pandemic, representatives of the European side, usually personally involved in testing their products, for the first time monitored the electrical tests of the satellite remotely. For this, a special Internet channel was organized: data on the inclusion of receiving and transmitting equipment, its operating modes and output characteristics were transmitted from Zheleznogorsk to Rome through it.
It is noted that the payload of the spacecraft is already integrated with the service systems module. In addition, electrical checks of relay equipment were carried out.
It is planned that the manufacture of the Express-AMU7 satellite will be completed before the end of this year. Thus, the device will probably go into space in 2021.
