Huawei and the Russian Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications will hold talks this summer on the possibility of using the Russian operating system Aurora in the devices of the Chinese manufacturer, RIA Novosti writes with reference to Mikhail Mamonov, Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications.
Mamonov told reporters about this on the sidelines of the International Cybersecurity Congress (ICC), organized by Sberbank. Recall that on Thursday, the head of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications, Konstantin Noskov, told the press that the department had a meeting with Huawei and continued negotiations on cooperation.
Answering a question about the topic of negotiations, Mamonov said: βRegarding the use of the Aurora mobile system ... We just agreed that we would start this work. That is, for us, the fact that our developments are recognized at the highest level, our developments are not without interest, that is, we can enter the third product of some kind.
According to him, the ministry is already preparing a comprehensive proposal for the Chinese side to work with Huawei and other technology companies in Russia. This includes questions on localization, technology transfer and investment in knowledge, the order of work of research centers in Russia.
At the same time, Mamonov refused to name the terms for signing the agreement. βWe are at the very early stage of the conversations. The first talks will take place before the beginning of this autumn, and, as a matter of fact, I expect to take part in them. These are already negotiations with Huawei, namely between specialists,β the Deputy Minister said.
