Russia invited Huawei to switch to Aurora OS

Clouds continue to gather around Huawei. Due to American sanctions, all major US IT corporations, including Google, refused to work with it. Therefore, the Chinese giant lost access to updates to the Android operating system. But how сообщаСт The Bell resource, citing its sources, Rostelecom and Russian businessman Grigory Berezkin are ready to help the Chinese.

Russia invited Huawei to switch to Aurora OS

The bottom line is that, as reported, Huawei CEO Guo Ping discussed with the Minister of Digital Development and Communication Konstantin Noskov the possible transition of Chinese smartphones to Sailfish. This happened before the Petersburg Economic Forum. This topic was also discussed earlier at the meetings of Vladimir Putin with Xi Jinping.

The idea is to replace Android with the Russian version of the Finnish OS Sailfish called Aurora. At the same time, The Bell interlocutor stated that such smartphones are already being tested. In addition, joint development of chips and software is planned.

At the same time, Rostelecom said they did not hear about the negotiations, and Huawei refused to comment. It is important to note that the Chinese company is preparing its own Hongmeng OS system, which supposedly should be universal - for smartphones and PCs. Therefore, it is not very clear why the interlocutors of the publication are confident that the Chinese need the Aurora. This operating system is based on Linux, but it does not have an ecosystem of applications. And Hongmeng OS is designed to run Android programs seamlessly.

Thus, it is possible that what is desired is simply presented as reality. Moreover, Android is an open OS, so the Chinese can create their own system based on it and sell devices with their replica of the β€œgreen robot” without any problems.
