According to him, Russian specialists have already begun to develop a technology for landing a vehicle with astronauts on the surface of an asteroid. The implementation of such a project, of course, will be fraught with a number of serious difficulties.

β€œThe difficulty is how to hook onto an asteroid. Nevertheless, this task is clear to our engineers, and such work is beginning to be carried out on an initiative basis by enterprises. We know how to implement it,” said Mr. Rogozin.

It is expected that the development of technology will take about ten years. In other words, the system could be in place by 2030.

The head of Roscosmos also added that Russia plans to implement a project to protect the Earth from asteroid-comet hazard. True, Dmitry Rogozin did not go into details about this initiative.

Finally, it was noted that Roskosmos expects to make launches of automatic spacecraft to the Moon an annual event. This will make it possible to work out all the technologies associated with landing on the lunar surface and obtain safety guarantees during a future manned flight to the natural satellite of our planet.
