The State Corporation Roscosmos announces that an educational project based on virtual reality (VR) technologies will be implemented in our country.
We are talking about holding VR geography lessons in schools. The materials will be formed using Earth remote sensing data obtained from Russian spacecraft.
The project implementation agreement was concluded between the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) and TERRA TECH, a subsidiary of the Russian Space Systems holding (RSS, part of Roscosmos).
“Virtual reality technologies are actively penetrating into all spheres of human life. Our task is to explore the potential and possibilities of VR technologies in education. Together with colleagues from TERRA TECH, we will check how additional educational effects can be achieved with the help of VR learning using the example of geography lessons,” FEFU notes.
It is assumed that the use of virtual reality technologies will improve the efficiency of learning, as well as increase the involvement of students in the educational process.
