The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation announces that soon there will be digital services for voters.
It is assumed that a set of new functions will include the choice of a convenient polling station, targeted informing users about election campaigns, candidates, electoral associations and election results.
In addition, it is planned to implement the possibility of remote voting at a digital polling station. Obviously, this will require a verified account on the State Services portal.
βThe first stage of digital services for voters is planned to be launched on the Unified Portal of Public Services already during the election campaign before the Single Voting Day on September 8, 2019,β the ministry said in a statement.
To introduce new functions, a specialized interface for a personal account on the State Services portal will be developed. It is expected that this will make the electoral process more convenient, accessible and transparent.
We add that as of April 1 this year, 86,4 million individuals and 462 thousand legal entities were registered on the State Services portal. Until the end of 2020 on site the so-called superservices are complex automatic public services grouped according to typical life situations.
