Apple remains the largest smartwatch supplier, with a market share of 35,8%, up from 2018% in Q35,5 49. The modest growth was achieved thanks to a significant increase in shipments, which grew by XNUMX% over the reporting period.

More impressive progress was made by some of Apple's competitors, who managed to regain the favor of buyers. The most successful quarter was for Samsung. Shipments of smart watches from the South Korean giant soared by 127%, providing the manufacturer with 11,1% of the market. Some revival in sales of Fitbit devices allowed it to take 5,5% of the segment. Huawei's presence in the smartwatch market last year was minimal, but in the first quarter of 2019, the share increased to 2,8%.

However, the beginning of 2019 was not successful for all manufacturers. Fossil, Amazfit, Garmin and Imoo worsened as a result of the quarterly period. Despite this, the statistics show that many major smartwatch manufacturers continue on the right track. The integration of new features into the delivered products helps to maintain the popularity of smart watches among buyers. The introduction of new sensors makes such devices not just a luxury item, but a really useful gadget that helps to monitor health.
