Rostelecom and Mail.ru Group announced the signing of an agreement on cooperation in the field of digital school education.
The parties will develop information products designed to modernize the educational process in Russian schools. These are, in particular, communication services for schools, teachers, parents and students. In addition, plans are being made to develop a new generation of digital diaries.
As part of the agreement, Rostelecom and Mail.ru Group will set up a Digital Education joint venture. It is assumed that it will be able to take a leading position in the digital school education market in Russia. Within this enterprise Rostelecom and Mail.ru Group will own equal shares.
βToday the educational process is closely connected with digital technologies, both in terms of development and delivery of content. At the same time, the need for high-quality educational products using new technologies is extremely high. Our company and the Mail.ru Group holding have all the necessary competencies and experience to solve this problem,β notes Rostelecom.
We add that in Russia a large-scale project to connect all schools to the Internet. The access speed will be 100 Mbps in cities and 50 Mbps in villages. This will provide the necessary communication opportunities for the development of digital school education in our country.
