In April, Human Head Studios unexpectedly announced  that the sequel to the 2000 action role-playing game Rune will skip the early access period and go straight to the final version. The authors said that this was made possible thanks to new sources of funding. Apparently, one of them was Epic Games: developers сообщилиthat the game will exclusive to her digital store. The release will take place this summer.

While the game's page on Steam hasn't disappeared yet, it's probably only a year from now for a release on that store - that's the typical length of a contract with Epic Games. Developers on Twitter announced thethat everyone who pre-orders before May 22 will receive not only the promised bonuses, but also a second copy of the Standard Edition as a gift. Initially she was called Rune: Ragnarok, then became just Rune (the first part in connection with this turned into Rune: Classic), and now - Rune II. In the new Rune, the player will take on the role of a hero chosen by the gods, who must save Midgard from the insane Loki. The trickster god is destined to die with the end of Ragnarok, but he has found a way to control time and constantly "rolls back" the state of the world, "giving rise to an endless cycle of chaos." Each such update launches a new era and changes the environment, creating new difficulties for the gamer, such as eternal night, the invasion of giants or glaciation. You have to overcome many such cycles to get to the main villain.

Having received a blessing from one of the gods, the protagonist will go on a journey through the world filled with monsters and dead warriors. You can move not only on foot, but also by boat, which you need to make yourself. You have to not only fight, but also look for rare resources, artifacts and rune stones that allow you to open the gate behind which Loki is hiding and create the most powerful weapon. The user will be able to choose the gender of their character and adjust various settings in the editor. The updated press release talks about enemy factions: bandits, cannibals, giants, dwarves, Surt warriors and draugrs are mentioned.

Rune II will be released only on PC. The recommended requirements include an OS no older than Windows 7, an Intel Core i5-4590 or AMD A-10 processor, 8 GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon RX 470 video card. Support for six languages ​​is declared, including Russian.
