The Yandex.Taxi platform announced the introduction of the so-called Eco-tariff in Russia: it will allow ordering cars that use natural gas (methane) as fuel.
Natural gas-powered vehicles cause much less harm to the environment than vehicles using gasoline or diesel fuel. Another benefit is cost savings for motorists.
βUsers will be able to consciously order a ride in a car that does not harm the environment. And drivers will save up to 60% of fuel costs,β Yandex notes, commenting on the emergence of a new tariff.
Kazan will be the first city where users will be able to specially order a taxi ride with gas equipment. Gas motor fuel is very popular here. Thus, there are four filling stations "Gazprom" for cars running on methane in the city. At one refueling with gas costing 500 rubles, a taxi car can travel a distance almost 2,5 times more than when refueling with gasoline for the same amount.
Initially, 650 cars will be available under the Eco-tariff, corresponding to the technical characteristics of the Comfort tariff. The cost of travel under these two offers will be the same.
