Saber Interactive has announced the acquisition of Bigmoon Entertainment, creators of games such as Lichdom Battlemage, Demons Age and Police Simulator: Patrol Duty. The value of the deal was not disclosed. The 40-person studio is now called Saber Porto and is working on two undisclosed titles for PC and consoles. Thus, Saber Interactive now has more than 600 employees in six countries (USA, Belarus, Portugal, Russia, Spain and Sweden).

β€œSaber is constantly in need of talented developers. Even in Russia, where most of our creatives are based, it can be difficult to find good developers despite the abundance of talent in the country,” said Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch. β€œWe have a constant stream of projects that need attention, and Bigmoon is technically sound and has huge growth potential.”

Within a year, Saber Interactive released World War Z, NBA 2K Playgrounds 2, Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered, and a Swith version The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Bigmoon Entertainment has had racing, RPG and simulation games in its portfolio, but is best known for the 2014 remake of Jagged Alliance.

"Well, currently we have experience with cars with Mudrunner and now Snowrunner, but these are not 'racing' games," Karch said. β€œOur interest in Bigmoon lies not so much in specific genres, but in their significant technical capabilities. She is already helping us with other projects that will be announced soon.”

The projects that Saber Porto is working on will be space action and something about cars. Karch also revealed that Saber Interactive would like to continue porting games.
