Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ became the best camera phone in the world, Huawei P30 Pro is now only the second

When DxOMark tested the Samsung Galaxy S10+ earlier this year, it couldn't beat the Huawei P20 Pro with a score of 109. Then parity happened between the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G and Huawei P30 Pro - both have 112 points. But the debut of the Galaxy Note 10+ turned the tide, and the brainchild of Samsung Corporation is now finally the sole leader in the DxOMark ranking of the best camera phones with a score of 113 β€œparrots”.

To be more precise, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G passed the test, but its photo capabilities are identical to the 4G version. The rear camera consists of four modules:

  • 12MP primary, f/1,5-2,4, 27mm, 1/2,55”, 1,4Β΅m, Dual Pixel PDAF, Dual OIS;
  • 12MP telephoto, f/2,1, 52mm, 1/3,6”, 1Β΅m, PDAF, Dual OIS, 2x optical zoom;
  • 16MP wide-angle, f/2,2, 12mm, 1Β΅m;
  • ToF 3D sensor.

And here we must make a reservation that the unconditional leadership of the Galaxy Note 10+ is observed only in the overall standings. If we take photography separately, then the South Korean smartphone is even inferior to its Chinese competitor Huawei P30 Pro by a whole score - 118 versus 119. scenes and spot exposure on faces.

Neutral white balance, accurate rendering and high saturation levels ensure that colors are rendered vividly and naturally in most shooting situations. The main 12-megapixel sensor is not the best in terms of noise in low ambient light, according to DxOMark experts, but the developers managed to get the Galaxy Note10+ to keep color noise under control in most cases. Although sometimes it still shows up in dark areas, both when photographing indoors and outdoor scenes.

In terms of video recording, the Samsung Galaxy Note10+ outperformed the Huawei P30 Pro by a significant margin of 101 vs. 97, helping it climb to the top of the rankings. It delivers the best video quality of any smartphone tested by DxOMark to date. Experts noted accurate exposure, wide dynamic range, high detail, vibrant colors, controlled noise, and effective autofocus with accurate subject tracking.
