Samsung Galaxy Note 20+ spotted on Geekbench with new Snapdragon 865 Plus chip

One of the supposed future smartphones of the Galaxy Note family has appeared in the database of the popular benchmark Geekbench. We are talking about the Galaxy Note 20+, the hardware basis of which, apparently, will be a new powerful processor from Qualcomm.

The South Korean company Samsung traditionally releases Galaxy Note family smartphones in August. It is expected that this year will be no exception and the manufacturer will introduce new Galaxy Note 20 devices in accordance with established tradition. As there is less and less time left before the launch of new products, more information about what Samsung is preparing for customers is beginning to appear on the Internet.

The Geekbench database mentions the SM-N986U model, which is expected to hit the market under the name Galaxy Note 20+. This assumption is based on the fact that the Galaxy Note 10+ was codenamed SM-976U before launch. The tested device is equipped with an eight-core chip, which is codenamed “kona” (also known as Snapdragon 865). However, the clock frequency of this single-chip platform turned out to be higher than that of the base model (3,09 versus 2,84 GHz). This could mean that we are looking at the Snapdragon 865 Plus.

The tested smartphone is equipped with 8 GB of RAM, although, most likely, the manufacturer will release a version with 12 GB of RAM. The Android 10 operating system is used as a software platform. In single-core mode, the device scored 985 points, while in multi-core mode the figure was 3220 points.

There is no more detailed information about the characteristics of the Galaxy Note 20+ yet. Obviously, there will be more of it as the date of the official announcement of Samsung's new Galaxy Note series approaches.
