Huawei, according to online sources, intends to reduce the use of Qualcomm processors in its mobile devices amid a conflict with the American authorities. An alternative to these chips may be products from Samsung and (or) MediaTek.

We are talking about chips supporting fifth generation mobile communications (5G). Today, the corresponding market segment is essentially divided between four suppliers. This is Huawei itself with its HiSilicon Kirin 5G solutions, Qualcomm with 5G Snapdragon processors, Samsung with selected Exynos products and MediaTek with Dimensity chips.

Having abandoned 5G Snapdragon processors, Huawei will be forced to look for an alternative. Huawei will continue to use its own Kirin solutions in high-end smartphones, and third-party hardware platforms may be selected for mid-range models.
