Samsung delays launch of QD-OLED TVs

In the past, Samsung has promoted QLED technology used in TV panels. Most of the companies that have shown interest in this technology have not been successful in this direction, and sales of QLED TVs have declined significantly. It is known that Samsung is working on a new technology QD-OLED (OLED emitters are supplemented with photoluminescent materials based on quantum dots), the implementation of which was planned to begin as early as next year.

Network sources report that Samsung intends to continue its own plans for the production of QD-OLED TVs, but the South Korean company will be slower than originally planned. The report says that Samsung will begin test production of panels next year, while the large-scale use of the new 10th generation line to create panels using new technology will begin only in 2023.

The developer is also known to be converting the 55th generation line as it is quite efficient in producing panels up to 55 inches. Thus, the developer intends to concentrate on the production of TVs with a diagonal of no more than 77 inches. Earlier it was reported that Samsung is working on a prototype 10-inch panel, using QD-OLED technology to create it. Most likely, it will be possible to establish mass production of such panels only by the time the 2023G line is launched, which should be put into operation in XNUMX.
