Samsung plans to launch its own gaming service PlayGalaxy Link

Network sources report that Samsung intends to organize another exclusive service for owners of Galaxy devices. Previously, the South Korean giant has already launched applications and services that are available exclusively to owners of Galaxy devices. Apparently, now Samsung plans to master the segment of mobile games.

Samsung plans to launch its own gaming service PlayGalaxy Link

The possibility of organizing a Samsung gaming service stems from a new patent, the request for registration of which the company has filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). From the description of the patent, it becomes clear that the PlayGalaxy Link service mentioned in it includes downloadable software, game tournament tools, as well as a service for playing augmented and virtual reality online. Probably, we are talking about a full-fledged gaming complex for mobile devices, which owners of Galaxy devices can use.

Previously, Samsung entered into a partnership agreement with Rovio, the parent company of the Hatch startup, whose developers created the mobile gaming platform of the same name. The first result of the partnership was the provision of a three-month Hatch Premium subscription to customers of the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G smartphone in South Korea.

Although the patent does not reveal all of Samsung's intentions, it can be assumed that the PlayGalaxy Link service will become a kind of analogue of Apple Arcade. It is possible that soon the South Korean giant will officially present the new service and reveal the details related to it.
