Samsung confirms work on Galaxy Note 20 and Fold 2: release in the second half of the year

We have repeatedly reported that the South Korean tech giant Samsung is going to release new smartphones of the Galaxy Note 20 and Fold 2 series this year. But, frankly, all this information was based on rumors and leaks. Now Samsung itself, albeit in passing, but still confirmed work on new devices.

In the published financial report for the first quarter of this year, there is a hint that the release of the Galaxy Note 20 and Fold 2 is scheduled for the second half of this year.

“In the second half of the year, against the backdrop of uncertainty associated with a prolonged pandemic, competition in the market is expected to increase. Producers will be looking to recover from the impact the first half of this year will bring. [Samsung] is going to continue to launch differentiated premium products and introduce new foldable devices and Note models.” says in the company's report. 

From a niche device Galaxy Fold 2 it is expected to have a folding screen with a diagonal of up to 7,7 inches, versions with flash drives of 256 and 512 GB, a triple main camera module of 12, 16 and 64 megapixels, as well as support for the S Pen stylus. Obviously, the novelty will also have support for fifth generation wireless networks (5G).

A new processor is predicted for the Galaxy Note 20 series smartphone Exynos 992, 8/12 GB of RAM and three versions - Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20+ and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

According to expectations, both new items can be presented in August.
