Samsung will stop supporting S Voice this June

Samsung has announced that it will soon end support for its S Voice assistant. According to the notice sent out by the South Korean manufacturer, all services related to the old voice assistant will stop working on June 1, 2020.

Samsung will stop supporting S Voice this June

The S Voice voice assistant should be familiar to people who have been using Samsung devices for a long time. It launched in 2012 but was eventually replaced by Bixby, Samsung's more advanced voice assistant. S Voice isn't like other voice assistants like Google Assistant or Bixby, but it can also perform some voice commands. To start interacting with it, you need to launch the corresponding application, after which you can start issuing commands. S Voice can be used to make calls, set reminders, search for information on the Web, etc. Since Samsung has been actively developing Bixby in recent years, the decision to abandon the old voice assistant does not seem surprising.

It's worth noting that some Samsung devices that have S Voice available will be able to use Bixby. For example, the Bixby voice assistant is already available to users of the Galaxy Active and Galaxy Watch, and owners of the Gear S3 and Gear Sport smartwatches will be able to start interacting with it after S Voice services are stopped. This will happen on June 1, when S Voice will begin responding to user requests: “I can’t process your request. Try later". Owners of relatively new Samsung devices will not be affected by this problem, since since 2017 the company's products have been supplied with the Bixby assistant.
