The South Korean giant Samsung, according to online sources, intends to form two new enterprises in India that will produce components for smartphones.

In particular, the Samsung Display division intends to commission a new plant in Noida (a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, part of the Delhi metropolitan area). Investments in this project will amount to approximately $220 million.

The company will manufacture displays for cellular devices. It is expected that production will be organized by April next year.

In addition, the new plant in India will launch Samsung's SDI division. The company in question will produce lithium-ion batteries. Investments in its creation will amount to $130–$144 million.

Thus, Samsung will spend a total of about $350–$360 million to commission new production lines in India.

Let's add that Samsung is now the world's largest supplier of smartphones. In the first quarter of this year, the South Korean giant sold 71,9 million devices, occupying 23,1% of the global market.
