Samsung Display has announced the start of mass production of foldable OLED panels for the Galaxy Fold smartphone.
Samsung Electronics has scheduled the start of global sales of the foldable smartphone on April 26. According to the head of the company's mobile division, the 5G version of the Galaxy Fold is expected to go on sale in South Korea in May this year. This will be Samsung's first foldable smartphone. The company expects its sales to exceed 1 million units.
When folded, the screen diagonal of the Galaxy Fold is 4,6 inches, when unfolded - 7,3 inches.
The implementation of the Galaxy Fold competitor - the Huawei Mate X smartphone - will begin in June this year.
