Samyang, which also markets its products under the Rokinon brand, has released updated versions of two of its best-selling lenses:
The updated manual focus lenses have the same optical elements and performance as their predecessors (14 elements in 10 groups on the 14mm and 9 elements in 7 groups on the 85mm), but add new features designed to provide smoother and reliable work.
In particular, both lenses now feature weather protection, a redesigned focus ring for better capture, and a switch to smoothly adjust the aperture level instead of preset fixed values. The 14mm f/2,8 MK2 lens also features a new focus lock switch to ensure that settings are not lost or shifted during use.
Both lenses are available for Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony E, Fujifilm X, Canon M and MFT mount cameras. The new MF 14mm f/2,8 MK2 and MF 85mm f/1,4 MK2 models will start shipping in early June with suggested retail prices ranging from Β£359 to Β£439 ($438-$535), depending on model and bayonet.
