For this reason, the Wikimedia community and the Wikimedia Foundation have created systems and staff to continually monitor and mitigate risks. If a problem arises, we learn, we get better, and we prepare to be even better next time,” the organization said in a statement on its website.

It is not yet known how large-scale the attack was on the Wikipedia servers, and what actions were taken to repel it. It is possible that these data will be announced after the investigation of the incident.
