Scythe introduced a compact "tower" Byakko 2

Scythe has unveiled an updated version of its relatively small Byakko tower cooling system. The novelty is called Byakko 2 and it differs from its predecessor primarily in a new fan, as well as a larger heatsink.

The cooling system of Byakko 2 is built on three nickel-plated copper heat pipes with a diameter of 6 mm, which are assembled in a nickel-plated copper base. The tubes housed an aluminum radiator. The dimensions of the novelty, together with the fan, are 111,5 Γ— 130 Γ— 84 mm, and it weighs 415 g. It turns out that compared to the original Byakko, the width of the radiator has grown by almost 10 mm, and the weight has increased by 40 g.

A 92mm Kaze Flex PWM fan is responsible for blowing the radiator. It is capable of rotating at speeds from 300 to 2300 rpm (PWM control), providing airflow up to 48,9 CFM, while its noise level does not exceed 28,83 dBA.

Surprisingly, Scythe provided the new Byakko 2 cooling system with mounts only for Intel LGA 775, 1366 and 115x processor sockets. The novelty is incompatible with older Intel chips in LGA 20xx cases, as well as with AMD processors. The cost, as well as the start date of sales of the Byakko 2 cooling system, are not specified. Note that the original Scythe Byakko is now on sale for a little less than 2000 rubles.
