Made in Russia: a new interferometer will help in the creation of optical components

The Novosibirsk enterprise of the Shvabe holding of the state corporation Rostec and the Institute of Automation and Electrometry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences intend to jointly create an advanced interferometer to control the manufacture of optical components.

It is a high precision digital measuring device. The device will be used in production at enterprises manufacturing optical parts.

β€œWith the help of the new interferometer, specialists will control the accuracy of the shape and radius of the spherical surface of lenses or optical parts. In practice, this helps to improve the quality of product manufacturing and will largely eliminate the human factor from the measurement process,” experts say.

The original Russified software has been developed for the device. It is designed to calculate the value of the curvature of the surface shape and automate the process.

Another feature of the novelty is a lower price compared to analogues: the cost will be 30-45% less. This will provide competitive advantages.

As part of the project, the Novosibirsk Instrument-Making Plant of the Shvabe holding will provide technical equipment and take over the production of a new interferometer. The Institute of Automation and Electrometry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in turn, will develop the theoretical part.
