SEGA has revealed the next ten games that will come preinstalled on the Sega Mega Drive Mini. Among them are Earthworm Jim, Super Fantasy Zone and Contra: Hard Corps.
When the Sega Mega Drive Mini goes on sale in the second half of the year, it will come preloaded with forty games. But SEGA announces them gradually, ten at a time. Until recently, the following games were known:
- Sonic the Hedgehog;
- Ecco the Dolphin;
- Castlevania: Bloodlines
- Space Harrier II;
- Shining Force;
- Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine;
- Toe Jam & Earl;
- comic zone;
- Altered Beast;
- Gunstar Heroes.
Now they are joined by:
- Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse;
- World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck;
- Thunder Force 3;
- Super Fantasy Zone;
- Shinobi 3;
- Streets of Rage 2;
- Earthworm Jim;
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2;
- Contra: Hard Corps;
- Landstalker.
SEGA will release the console on September 19 this year worldwide. It will be much smaller than the original Sega Mega Drive. As with the NES Mini, you won't be able to put a cartridge from the original console into the system. Instead, the Sega Mega Drive Mini comes with forty games, two controllers, and an HDMI cable and a USB power cable. The cost of the system will be $79,99.
The games are ported by M2 Studio, responsible for the Sega Ages and Sega 3D Classics Collection. And Streets of Rage composer Yuzo Koshiro will write the theme song for the device's main menu.
